Original Louet Spinning wheels
If for some reason you have to take the main wheel off your spinning wheel, here is a diagram that shows the correct sequence of parts to re-assemble. This parts diagram pertains to the S10, S11, S51, S15, S70, S71, S75, S76, S77 and S90 wheels.
Interestingly, during spinning wheel tune-ups, we commonly find the sequence of these parts to be incorrect. This can cause issues of wear and poor performance.
Current wheels
Starting with the S10 Concept and current model of the S17, we no longer use a main bolt connection. Instead the wheel comes with a triangular shaped fitting with a shaft welded to it. The fitting is screwed onto the main wheel. The shaft fits through the backpost of your wheel and secured with a plastic “C” clip. This is a secure connection, but take care not to lose the clip if you do remove it!
Triangle Fitting
We have experienced that occasionally the weld of shaft on the triangle fitting fails and this will create an unacceptable wobble in your wheel. This can also occur if the wheel falls or is jolted in a fall or if it tips over. You will need to replace The Triangular fitting
