You can block the shaft movement by applying the blocking pin. The blocking pin is used to stabilize the harnesses for threading and the tieup of the treadles. When the locking pin is fitted, the shafts cannot move and hang at the same height. Once you have finished threading and tying the treadles, you can remove the blocking pin.
An uneven shed during weaving can be caused by the shafts not hanging at the right height. Always check and adjust the height of the shafts with the fitted blocking pin. Follow the instructions that apply to your loom to adjust the shaft heights.
Tip: To insert the pin, it is best to press two pedals tied for tabby weave, this will make all shafts move.
