The position of the rollers for the Jane 16 shaft are important to prevent fraying of cords.
The top roller positions - there are two holes on each side of the loom - one above the other to insert the roller bolts.
The Bottom roller positions are one beside the other creating an inside hole and outside hole
In the front of the loom (shafts 1-8)
- top rollers should be in the lower position
- bottom rollers in the outside position
In the back of the loom (shafts 9-16)
- top rollers should be in the upper position
- bottom rollers in the inside position
If this is not so, the shaft cords for shafts 16, 15, 14 will rub on each other and on the guides and will fray.
If by chance your rollers are not in these positions, use your 10mm wrench to remove the set of rollers and re-insert them in the correct locations.
The series of Jane 16-70cm that were made in Feb 2024 and delivered in Feb 2024 were made with rollers in the incorrect position - top rollers in the front are in the upper position and top rollers in the back are in lower position. You need to change this for proper performance.
