Tightening slider hooks (S10, S10DT, S51, S51DT)
Since 2007, Louet spinning wheels S10, S10DT, S51 and S51DT can be equipped with flyers that use sliding hooks instead of fixed hooks (similar to the high-speed flyer).
The advantage is a more even distribution of yarn on the bobbin.
In some cases, the slider hooks may become loose, causing them to shift during spinning. This can be easily corrected.
Instructions
- Remove the slider from the flyer.
- Use pliers and position them on the two metal wires/pins of the slider.
- Gently squeeze the wires slightly toward each other.
(Caution: do not squeeze too hard, as this may damage or break the plastic ring.) - Place the slider back onto the flyer and check if it fits more securely.
- Repeat if necessary.
Note
If a slider is damaged or breaks, replacement sets are available (packed per 2):
- Standard flyer: SR0135
- S45: SR0137
