If your new David 3 has one or more shafts that do not return to their rest position without help—for example, when you press a treadle and it stays down—try increasing the spring tension under the shelf.
This can also occur with weave structures where, for example, 6 shafts are lifted on one treadle and only 2 shafts on another.
Remove the shelf and tighten the Texsolv cord between the spring and the cam by a few loops.
Warp tension can also help reduce this issue, so do not be too concerned unless it still occurs when the loom is warped.
Early David 3 looms produced in spring 2021 had a spacing of 3 mm between the lams. This has been increased to 3.5 mm on later looms, which reduces the chance of lams sticking to each other.
