Magic Dobby - Shafts not returning to rest

The shafts not returning to rest on a Magic dobby loom is a friction problem.   

• One possibility is that the shaft ends are coming loose.   If they do, the width of the shaft increases and there could be friction between the shaft ends and the side of the loom.    The solution is to push the ends of the shafts fully onto the shaft bars.     
• Another possibility is simply too much density.  Too many heddles on adjacent harnesses, or too many EPI.   Too many heddles is more often the case.
