Texsolv loop cord was developed by the Swedish company TEXSOLV for the weaving industry. Texsolv is also the company that manufactures the heddles that are used on all Louet looms.
The advantage of Texsolv cord is that it does not stretch and is very strong and that you can adjust it’s length. That is why it is used with the large Louet looms, it is used to connect the shaft system and thus the shafts always hang at the correct height. It is also used for the tie-up cords on the warp and cloth beams and the treadle tie-up cords.
The Texsolv loop cord has eyelets 12 mm apart. Extra Texsolv cord is available in 15 m lengths from your Louet dealer (part number WA0218)
Take a look at the Youtube video below for some tips and applications:
Cutting and singing Texsolv cord To prevent the cord from fraying, the cord is singed after it has been cut. This can be done with a flame (lighter, match or candle) or with a soldering iron. The cords supplied with the loom are all cut to size. (see video) |

Texsolv spacers Sometimes fine adjustment is necessary (for example with David cords that run from the lams to the bottom shaft bars, and with the Megado shaft cords). With texsolv spacers, the cord can be shortened by 1 mm with each spacer. These spacers are already fitted and you will find a few extra in the spare parts bag with your loom. If you want to order more, you can order them from your Louet dealer (part number WA0222). |

Connecting pins (not on the video) Connecting pins are available with a single or double pin. The single pin is used to secure a cord. The double pin cord pins are not used on Louet looms (part # WA0220) |
