PLEASE NOTE: NEW LOOMS ARE DELIVERED WITH SHAFTS AND LAMS SET CORRECTLY. IF YOU FEEL YOUR LOOM IS NOT, PLEASE CONTACT SUPPORT (support@louet.zendesk.com) BEFORE ADJUSTING SHAFT AND LAM HEIGHTS. SEE PARAGRAPH BELOW THIS TABLE. - The heights listed are a guide - precise position is dependant on where your warp thread passes through the heddle eye - see the next paragraph
Any adjustments should only be made with the blocking pin in place.
Spring loom shafts should be adjusted so that a warp under tension passes through the middle of the heddle eye. The warp slants upwards from front to back, so when you assess warp threads passing through the middle of a heddle eye, make that judgement based on heddles on the middle shafts.
The difference in height between lams is equal to the difference in length of the tie up cords. The difference in length between the tie up cords is 19 cm.
Lam height should be set so that the ends of the treadles hang in the middle between the floor and the cross bar, in that position, screw heads on the treadles will be horizontal.
- When measuring, the shafts should be blocked with the blocking pin.
- Tip: mark the measurements on two warp sticks and place them upright behind the shaft. You can easily adjust the height by turning the white nylon rollers. The distance between the holes in the texsolv cord is 12 mm (0.5").
Tie-up cords
The tie-up cords all hang at the same height when shafts are blocked. With texsolv cord, the first hole can be weaker due to the cut. Do not use the hole where the cord was cut, instead, use the next hole.
Tie-up cords Upper lamms 35,5 cm ( 21") long
Tie-up cords Lower lamms are 54,5 cm (13 1/2") long.
