There are a variety of reasons why this could happen - it is possible and within expected tolerance.
Generally, you can expect some sound generated when operating the treadles.
There are some adjustments that can be made. First you need to investigate where the noise is coming from:
- If the noise is caused by the treadles hitting a hard floor, you can attach felt pads under the ends of the treadles. You can also put a rug under the loom to dampen the sound.
- If the noise is caused by the treadles hitting the crossbar, you can apply felt pads to the top of the treadles. Louet has started adding these felt pads to the tops of the treadles on Spring looms that were delivered after the fall of 2020.
