A new bundle of heddles has four twist ties which prevent the heddles from unwinding and getting tangled. Do not throw these ties away. You may need to use them again when moving heddles to another shaft. If you do, re-tie the ties in the same manner before loosening the shaft side.
With a new bundle of heddles, they are all connected to each other, one after the other. Maintaining connected heddles is not practical when threading. We recommend that you cut the heddle loops at the top and bottom. Always use sharp scissors for this.
Before you start threading a new warp, make sure there are enough heddles on the shafts you will be using.
If you want to move heddles
- First you apply 4 twist ties to the bundle you want to move.
- Then carefully pull the top shaft side off the shaft bar and let the tied-off heddle bundle slide off the top shaft bar.
- Then re-attach the top shaft bar to the shaft side
- Now carefully pull off the shaft side at the bottom and remove the heddle bundle.
Do the same thing in reverse to place heddles on a new shaft.
