As seen in the image below, the bolt has come undone. You may alternatively have a screw connection where the screw is sticking out instead of a bolt.
Solution:
- Hold the bolt or screw with a pair of pliers
- Slide the locking ring back toward the footman as shown
- Now twist the bolt so the bearing twists out of the cup.
- Next reconnect the bolt or screw.
In the case of a screw:
In the 90’s Louet used a screw to connect the footman bearing. We advise you replace the screw connection with a footman bolt assembly - SR0131.
In case of a bolt:
You need a lock washer between the bearing and inserted nut. If you only have a flat washer as shown, contact your local retailer to obtain a lock washer - or you could find a lock washer at your local hardware store.
Re-connect the bolt with a lock washer and tighten. Finish by re-attaching the footman to the footman bearing.
